Eastern Sky's main studio features Pro Tools/HD 3 with two 192 I/Os loaded
for 24 tracks of analog in and out.
Speakers are Genelec1038's for the sofits, ADAM S-3A's with two 7071A subwoofers for main stereo and surround 5.1 mixing. Monitoring levels are handled by a MultiMAX
controller with VU meters. Formats include ADAT, DA-88, DAT, 24bit DAT, 1/4" analog
15/30 IPS with Dolby A or SR, CDR, MP3, Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic
and DTS encoding. Mixdown is to a Tascam DV-RA1000 High Definition Master Recorder.
The console is a Euphonix CS2000 56 input with the latest Mixview 3.2 software and CS3000 firmware (not updated in photos yet). All EQ and dynamics parameters are routable and programmable.
Outboard effects include a T. C. System 6000, Thermionic Culture Phoenix tube compressor, (2) UREI LA-4As (modified by Alactronics), 1176LN, Alan Smart C2, TFPro P8 compressor, Empirical Labs Fatso, Jr., (4) DBX 160xt compressors, Millennia NSEQ-2 tube EQ, (2) Lexicon PCM80s, Yahama SPX900, SPL Transient Designer 2, and various pieces by Orban, Symetrix and others. Outboard mic
pre's include Avalon, Massenberg, John Hardy (6), Grace (8), Pacifica, Vintech, Millennia, Universal Audio and TL Audio.
A 7' Steinway B
grand piano provides unsurpassed quality of sound and responsive touch. Included is a full
complement of dynamic, condenser, and ribbon mics by all the usual
suspects. Our MIDI set-up includes a Kurzweil controller and modules by
Roland, E-Mu, Alesis, etc.
Also in this room is a Media 100i XS with SDI/DV interface option.
Visual monitoring includes a Sharp LCD projector, Sony broadcast
reference monitors and all the gear to keep the system in frame accurate
sync. Video formats include Beta SP, DVCAM, 3/4" and VHS. Additional
formats available. All audio cabling is by Mogami, all video by Canare.

The studio features an isolated machine area accessible and visible
from the control room and a large producer's desk behind the mix
position. The ISO booth has video monitoring for vocal sessions
against picture. The studio features variable acoustics with a live,
oak-walled area, a stone drum floor and dead area. We have a modest collection
of vintage drums (Ludwig, Gretsch, Slingerland and Drum Workshop) and a large snare drum collection (12 snares from 1940 to modern). We have bass and guitar amps from Ampeg, Ashdown, Fender, Bad Cat, Orange, Bogner, Divided by 13, Tech 21, Victoria, Top Hat and Dr. Z.
